Software

The Display solution uses the deuromedia Data Broadcasting Platform (DBP) to transmit data packages from a central point to a large number of affiliated receivers.

DBP is a Content distribution system that allows content partners to aggregate, schedule and manage the data-broadcasting and optimised content consumption over different networks. It supports all types of content including HDTV Video.

The Display solution consists of three applications which handle the different tasks at the different locations:

  • Display Center

Content provider tool for the preparation, aggregation, addressing, scheduling and transmission of content and playlists. An optional module allows integration content to be feeded from external content management systems. Display Center is developed using .NET technology and runs on the MS Windows™ platform.

  • Display Server

Receiver tool for the reception of content and playlists, file processing and playback coordination. Display server is also responsible for providing feedback about the current status of the content and the display-terminals. Display Server uses a proprietary ,lightweight protocol to support even very low-bandwith mediums like a GSM-modem for providing this feedback. Optionally, the Display Server provides a playlist editor by which playlists can be modified on the receiver site. This offers the possibility to add station / location specific content to the playlists received by the Display Center. The editor provides also the possibility to add ticker information to the playlists. The Display Server is availble for the Linux™ and for the MS Windows™ platforms.

  • Display Client

Terminal application which runs the playback of the content files according to the playlist and controls and monitors the display-terminal via serial line (if supported by the display-terminal). The Display Client is availble for the Linux™, for the MS Windows™ and also embedded platforms.

Hardware

  • Display Terminals

Besides of the ability to use almost any available Video-beamer and LCD/Plasma-displays, deuromedia also works very close with the DIGITAL CYNOS Display Manufacturing Company and is in the position to offer cost-effective LCD screens with display-sizes in the range of 20" to 42" with or without integrated Display Client HW.

Please contact us for a complete list of all devices we offer and currently support.

  • Display Client HW

Depending on the content to be displayed on the display-terminal different HW-platforms may be selected for the Display Client Hardware. Some of the possibilities are: industry-standard PC's, ruggedized PC's for use in special environments, small form-factor barebone PC's or embedded solutions for special needs.

  • Display Server and Display Center HW

Depending on the desired availability of the system several options can be deployed. Display Center runs on MS Windows™ platform only, Display Server is available both for the Linux™ and for the MS Windows™ platform.

Services

In combination with our infotainment solution (link to there), special customer-tailored solutions for special purposes can be deployed.

  • Computer Based Training applications. By adding interactivity on the Display Client side special solutions for remote training can be deployed.

  • By using interfaces to live-CRM systems very fine-granular control over the content can be achieved. This is especially interesting for deployments in the retail market area
